West Virginia Glass Company was founded and incorporated in 1965 by Bob Cernuto, president and Robert N. Burns, vice president. Both Bob and Robert each brought their own individual talents and skills to the company leading to its success, growth and reputation in the Beckley, West Virginia community and surrounding areas. At the age of 12, Bob’s daughter Rhonda, who was very close to her father, became interested in working side by side with him. She started in the office answering the phones and learning the business from the ground up. Later she attended college and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University and Concord University with concentration in both Business Management and Accounting. Since 1983 she and her husband, who develop the window manufacturing division of the company, have worked together in the business learning from the founders the skills they would need to help lead the company into the future. After Mr. Burn’s retirement in 2002, Rhonda became vice president and co-owner with her father until his death in 2007. Now as owner and president, Rhonda (along with her husband and trusted staff—several who have been with the company for more than 30 years) continues to carry on the dream that was originally started in 1965.
